More passengers from South Korea, Japan and China at Finavia airports

  

 

Finavia  Helsinki-Airport saw an increase in international and transfer passengers in the first quarter of this year.

The number of international passengers flying to or from Finavia’s airports in Finland grew 4.0 percent to 3.1 million in the first quarter of 2014 when compared to the same period last year. The passenger traffic from South Korea increased almost 37 percent, from Japan 28 percent and from China almost 7 percent.

The number of transfer passengers going through Helsinki-Vantaa airport grew 4.9 percent from the first quarter in 2013. The airport recorded 3.6 million people transferring to the other flights at Helsinki-Vantaa.

— Helsinki-Vantaa has maintained its strong position as a transfer hub between Asia and Europe, says Finavia Marketing Director Joni Sundelin.
